Yom Hashoah Manchester is one of the largest annual Jewish commemorations of the Holocaust in the UK.
Yom Hashoah Manchester is a charity (registered 1171724) whose remit is to manage this event and support Holocaust education in the Manchester region.
Yom Hashoah Manchester is run by a committee of dedicated volunteers who feel passionate about remembering those who were brutally murdered during the Holocaust, honouring them, and those who survived by providing a moving and informative annual event on Yom Hashoah.
"Shoah" is the Hebrew word for Holocaust.
The Holocaust was one of the darkest moments in human history. It is vital that as the number of survivors gets ever smaller, we all work to ensure the next generation are told their stories, are educated about the Holocaust and learn the important lessons for today.
I am proud to work with the Yom Hashoah committee to make sure this happens here in Greater Manchester, alongside our city-region’s wider Jewish community.
